About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Currently, I am out traveling the world again! This time....I am out marketing my floral business in Asia and Europe. It has been very inspiring and poetic, and many thanks for all of the amazing things that I have seen and experienced (so far) this year. It has been a serious blessing, and I give thanks for that. I am also on a mission to spread joy to as many corners of the world as I may be so fortunate to experience. I believe that the simple "spreading of joy" (that is to carry around a positive attitude in my exchanges with others, and in society at large) is far more potent than is often recognized, and I feel that if I am so fortunate (which I seem to be at the moment) to be able to go out and experience the world...that I should, in exchange, arrive in the best of spirits and act kind and thankful with others. I can only hope that this (as well as the poems) are a fair exchange for the experiences that I am able to have at this point. Always be thankful.
Thank you.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Los Angeles and moved to Eugene, Oregon at the age of 6. I moved to many places growing up, including....Dallas, TX, Deer Island, OR, and Apple Valley, MN as well as the other 2 mentioned. I moved to Portland, Oregon at 18 years of age and started my floral company the next year (1987). In late 1990 I moved to the bay area (Berkeley at first) and spent most of the 90's there. I still have many connections in the Bay area.
Then I came back to Eugene, on to Portland, to Joshua Tree, a year in Mount Shasta City, and back to Eugene a few years ago.
I am a poet. When I was nearing 18 years old, and not really having a clue what I even wanted out there in the world, or where I was going, etc....I had a sort of vision, and it clearly spoke to me that I needed to write. To pen poems, and to commit to this dharma. I said yes, and have been writing for my entire adult life. I have had many times of reading out, etc, but have not (yet) published the material. It does need much editing and I intend on publishing it myself when the time is ready. My favorite poets are.....Walt Whitman, William Blake, and Hafiz.
I'm also an avid traveler and love the American west, and most everywhere that I have been in the world. I really like the 2 extremes of 1) the worlds great cities! and 2) remote places of immense natural beauty...I am able to go the the places of natural beauty to gather, and seek out, the products in my business (which I love dearly) and as well....market them, and deliver them, to the worlds great cities. I love the diversity of the peoples of this Earth, and feel that we can learn so much from each other, especially when we open our minds to the often incredibly differing circumstances and customs in which each of us is conditioned by. I find it incredible to shatter these illusions and get closer (hopefully) to the deep truth that are inherent in us all. Bless you for being you.
I'm also a part time DJ, and have been for 18 years now. I do know many of the folks that brought you....the world of Electronic Dance Music in the Western US....as well as many other parts of the globe. I mostly get up and work in the day, and run a very active business.....however....and also....about 20-30 days a year I get myself up in some show business and either work on production, or DJ music. It is mostly a "hobby" (I guess you could say), but I do have many friends who are deeply involved in this and with some success...at that... so when the timing is good.....I do like to get out to dance it up, and help facilitate the making of (hopefully) inspiring events.

PHILOSOPHY

I live for beauty, search for truth. attempt to live fully. engage in my
existence, and continually challenge for greater understanding. I believe in the greater good of humanity and seek to strengthen those
things which enforce this underlying truth. to those who give...all is given

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on coushsurfing to participate in the cultural exchange that it offers. I am interested in hosting (when I am able) requests that are focused on this aspect of CS. I am not as interested in requests that state why you are in
my city, and that you are "looking for a place to crash". I would rather that you sought out my profile because it
seems that we have something in common, and that an exchange would seem desirable....beyond just because
you can stay at my house. I am especially open to foreign travelers, as my experience (see next section) has been
mostly with the international crowd. I am willing to host Americans! I can just hope that you actually took the time to read the profile (also see "home section") and write to me specifically. IMO there are far too many requests that do not in any way state why you would like to stay at my home. Please be part of the solution and keep CS what it is intended to be. Thank you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined CS in 2006, and used it sparingly.
In 2009, I lived in a large house in Joshua Tree, California and also had
a trip planned to Europe. It seemed only appropriate to offer up hosting at the house in exchange for our desire
to be hosted on our upcoming trip to Europe. It worked out famously both ways. The people that came to stay
were wonderful, and the hosts that we found in Europe were wonderful, and I was hooked! For the next 3 years
the house in JT hosted many, many travelers. All of the experiences were positive, and I feel that I have made some amazing connections around the world herein. Thank you Couchsurfing!
In 2011, I moved out of the house in JT and have used CS sparingly. I am back to using it again, and hope that you take the time to tap into it as the cultural exchange that (I feel) it was meant to be.
Thank you and many blessings from the great northwest!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a deep knowledge of Eugene and surrounding areas. I kind of grew up here and can offer some nice tips, as to things to do, and places to see, etc. Also, a bit of a cultural history i can offer. For those who are traveling to other parts of the west coast...I have many amazing places to point out on whatever way you may be taking. I have traveled the west for many years, and love to share of places that you may not otherwise have noticed on the map. I can also share some nice music, and a glass of wine....or.....
