À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

I want to explore, I want to get lost, I want to go on adventures, I want to have fun, I want to do what everyone else is afriad of doing. And I will do it.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy adventure and I feel like I need a lot more than what I am getting currently. Since later on they ask for interests... I will try and think of the most random things about me to put on here... Hmm...

I am very outgoing, but I love to sit in silence. Sometimes I think the best friends I could ever have are the ones who are comfortable with silence between us. I am very double jointed, especially in my hands. I can bend my index finger all the way back so it can touch my wrist - I used to use it as a spit ball launcher in middle school.

I love doing impressions of people, whether or not they are famous or my friends. I also like making weird noises and sometimes when I go to sleep, I later find out that I am humming and didn't even know it. If you let me surf your couch, don't hesitate to come in and yell at me if you can hear it.

Although I am outgoing I love to take the role of The Observer. I love watching how people interact with each other and I always make judgements about people, good and bad. It's always fun to find out how accurate my judgements are and I am never upset when I get proven wrong about someone.

Let's see, even though I live in Arizona, I never wear shorts so my arms are extremely tan and my legs are really white. I don't wear much makeup, if at all because I like people to see me as I naturally am. Okay, that isn't entirely true... I am also extremely lazy. But I have heard from people that it's nice that I don't wear make-up because I don't surprise them when we wake up in the morning because my make-up didn't come off.

I have some nervous habits... I really like to feel things. That doesn't sound creepy, does it? It's hard to explain but I just love feeling contrast between two different textures. When I was really little I had a stuffed bear name Bear (I know, I was creative for my age) and I would spill a drop of juice on him or something and it would dry. I would then proceed in feeling the difference between the crusty fur and regular fur.

What else? When I was in track a few years ago I was running a sprint and there was a dust storm while I was running. I used to wear contacts and the dust got in them. It also happened to be the night before finals so I stayed up late studying and fell asleep with them in. It turns out I scratched the hell out of my cornias and then bacteria grew. I went blind and had to wear eye-patches on my eyes for two weeks. After that I had to wear sunglasses inside for three months. All of that made me realize how much I love my eyes.

I am one of those people who has never been to the hospital but a lot of gross and bloody stuff has happened to me. Feel free to ask me about these stories if you are into that... I know I haven't been to the hospital, but they are still pretty horrific.

If I think of anything else random, I will update it.

PHILOSOPHY

"Why, things you've chosen to believe, things you'd die for, are to most people funny, or mad." -Richard Bach (author)

If I think you are funny, or mad... then you are on good terms with me.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I have not participated in actual couch surfing or hosting, but I am extremely excited to do so. So far, Pierre in Stockholm is most likely going to be my first CS experience and I really can't wait.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. I am looking forward to meeting people on my travels this summer though.

10 Things To Know About Me

1. I absolutely love playing music and listening to it. I can play many different instruments. When I was 11 years old I set out a goal for myself to learn a new instrument every summer when I had time. I have a couple scholarships for playing classical saxophone here but I can also play piano, french horn, clarinet, flute, trumpet, baritone, and many others. Actually, recently I tried playing my grandpa's old accordian and it was a blast. I also really want to learn how to play bagpipes because I think they are amazing.

2. I love playing sports more than actually watching. I have a lot of friends in Arizona that are from South America and Turkey and they have all got me really into watching soccer. It is very fun to watch and play. I used to run in track and throw discus. Now, I try and play Ultimate Frisbee whenever I can. I know it is the lamest sounding sport ever, but it is a very difficult and physically taxing game. It also takes a lot of technique. If you meet me on CS, I will most likely have a frisbee... I can teach you the right way to throw it.

3. I really like animals, but currently I do not have any. I want to get either a mutt or a German Shepard and name him Argyle. If you have seen Braveheart, he is the uncle of William Wallace and only has a few brief scenes in the movie.

4. I have always tried to participate in every aspect of drama. In high school I usually got roles of boring characters because I always had a way to spice it up. One time I had the privelege to do my fake Old Lady Opera voice in front of audiences. It is very shocking and might hurt your ears. Recently I scored a lead role in a play called All the Great Books where I played multiple character such as Sherlock Holmes, Don Quixote, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and others. Don't worry, I don't always play male roles... I also like to do the technical aspect of theatre. I love learning about lighting and sound.

5. I love to sing in the car and sometimes I get so obsessed with one song that I listen to it over and over again. I love driving around by myself or with a good friend and just singing or talking about life. I know all the great spots to drive in Arizona.

6. I love talking and thinking about all sorts of philosophy. When I have time, I go to this used bookstore and close my eyes and pick a random book off of the Philosophy shelf. They are only three dollars anyway, so I buy it, whether or not it sounds interesting. Many times I read books that I completely do not agree with, but they always make me think. I love to think about why we are here, who put us here and so on and so forth.

7. I love outdoor things and I feel like there is so much more than I could be doing. I used to camp a lot and practically lived in the woods when I was younger. There are so many things I would love to try like scuba diving, sky diving, snowboarding and surfing. I like rock climbing a lot, but I haven't done it for a while and have a feeling that once I start, I will lose feeling in my legs.

8. I have a very sarcastic sense of humor, but I usually try to warn people beforehand because many think that I am just being mean. On the contrary, I am really not a mean person... my humor is just sarcastic and dry.

9. One thing that I find extremely attractive in people (other than good personalities) is their smile and laugh. I actually have a rating list of all of my friends and where they rank on that list in terms of laugh and smile. I don't feel like you have to have good teeth to have a stunning smile. And the nerdier the laugh, the better.

10. I like learning about new things all of the time, whether it is about music, history, art, animals or whatever. I like knowing random and possibly useless facts, but I is just interesting. I am full of random crap and I tend to spout it out at random times.

Well, hopefully this was helpful, if I think of anything else... it will be posted.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Alright, this could be terribly long if I didn't care about your boredom.

Movies: I am a huge war movie freak, but of course I love comedy, action and drama. SOME movies include: Braveheart, Gladiator, Almost Famous, Lord of the Rings, The Princess Bride, The Dark Crystal, The Labrynth, Nightmare Before Christmas, Crash, High Fidelity, Seventh Samurai, Milagro Beanfield War, Belle Epoque, Pan's Labrynth, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and too many more to count.

TV Shows: I am not a huge TV person, except for the fact that I am an avid Lost watcher. I also like Scrubs, Family Guy and South Park.

Music: I have a very eclectic taste in music. I will try and list some from every genre that I like. I will let you look at my iPod if you ever want to because I listen to ever genre. Classic rock, punk rock, techno, folk, classical, jazz, and soundtrack music are my main favorites.

Books: I love to read a lot. I only wish I had more time for it. Some of my favorites include: Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, Alice in Wonderland, Les Miserables, Pillars of the Earth, World Without End, The Magician's Guild Trilogy, Harry Potter, The Phantom Tollbooth, 1984, A Brave New World, The Giver. I really hate Twilight though, so if you like it... just don't mention it.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Pshhh... I know amazing people and I hope to become an amazing person as well. I have not travelled far, but I have met some amazing international students here in Arizona. They are some of my favorite people.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I'm not really sure what I can teach. I suppose I can teach music, frisbee and who knows what else. I know I have some skills... they just aren't popping in my brain at the moment.
