CURRENT MISSION

I have never travelled before and I want to gain independence and self-reliance and learn about myself. I'll elaborate more on this in the Personal Philosophy section.

ABOUT ME

I am a person who has been very sheltered for my whole life and sees the detriment that this has done to my growth. I feel like now I need to have an experience that will force me to be completely self-reliant to allow myself to build real confidence and learn about who I am as a person, what I really want and desire and not what I think other people want me to be. I have never travelled before but I have seen many beautiful areas that I have dreamed of seeing so now that I have an opportunity I feel I need to take it, no matter how inexperienced or ill-prepared I may be. I can't wait to travel, meet new people and grow because then I can know and love myself and then be able to share that confidence and compassion with others.

PHILOSOPHY

There are many aspects to my personal philosophy and many of them are related to this journey I want to take. I am particularly interested in learning about myself, my real personality and interests and find out what goals I am truely want to fulfill for my own personal reasons and not those of others. I know that I can do all this learning in any place, the place is not what's important its the state of mind and being open to learning from everything, everyone and every experience but I feel that by putting myself in a completely new place where I know no one and have no knowledge will allow myself to have to rely on myself and dig within myself on my own to survive and achieve. This is a very personal and important thing for me to do because I want to know myself truely so I can understand myself and others better, be driven by my own goals and passions and then be able to show that to others, inspire them, be compassionate towards them and love them and myself.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have no home of my own really, so I would be wanting to find places to stay where I am travelling to. I feel bad about not being able to offer others a place to stay, but I would be willing to offer doing chores or something like that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not really couch-surfed before but I have met someone who has used this site both as a host and as a surfer and they had positive things to say. I am excited to meet lots of different people because everyone has something valuable to share.

Interessi

I am a trained scientist but I found that I am more philosophically minded than anything else. I love to experience new things and see beautiful new places, meet new people and learn new things. I have a huge urge to go out and explore and find out more about the world I live in and about myself as well.

Musica, film e libri

I have been reading the Song of Ice and Fire series, I love classic rock from the 630's - 80's and grunge from the 90's, some hip hop is alright, I don't like club music or top 40 bullshit. I like documentaries about social issues, silly comedies that make no sense, horrible horror movies, historical dramas, anything that is well made and entertaining or anything so bad its good.

I have not done this yet, but I am planning on an individual year long trip to south asia. I have also done a lot of personal introspection so I have seen a lot of myself and been able to see a lot of what life is worth through seeing myself and others. I think that that is the most amazing thing you can do, know who you are and have the confidence and love to be able to share that honestly with others because then you build real connections and inspire others to learn about themselves honestly as well.

I have learned a lot about life and about myself in my short time so far, I have also learned that there are MANY more things that I want and need to learn and things that I want to achieve. Never let any experience go because every one has the potential to change your life and teach you something amazing. Don't judge anyone for any reason, least of all yourself. Be outgoing and risky but also reflective and compassionate to be able to have the experiences to learn from but also to understand what those lessons were and to grow yourself from them. Life is a beautiful amazing journey and there are so many parts that are worth experiencing and sharing.
