About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel, explore and learn about Polynesian, Melanesian, Micronesain culture & customs.

ABOUT ME

Kia ora tatou,

My name is Richard. I am a semi-retired senior UK university lecturer and am currently based in New Zealand.

I am fourty years old, single and retired.
I don't smoke or drink and am in a good state of
health. I am semi-retired and look forward immensely
over the second half of my life to exploring NZ and Polynesia, Micronesia, And Melanesia and embracing all that it has to offer.

I am university educated to masters degree level
and was a senior UK university lecturer for
nearly ten years. Additionally I was an
undergraduate programme director responsible for
fourty academic staff and a thousand+ students.
I also possess postgraduate certificates in
coaching and mentoring. Over the last few years
I have also become interested in the area of
alternative healing. I am attuned to Reiki II
and also am a trained energy field healer.

And more of me below.

PHILOSOPHY

- Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others (MW , COACIM)
- Carpe Diem (Anon).
- Pay Attention, Expect the Best, Go For It (TB).
- Let It Be Easy (TB).
- Do or do not... there is no try. (Yoda).

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Where does one start. I pretty much enjoy all forms of cinema apart from slash horror. I tend to not watch one more than once. If I do it would come from:

- Field of Dreams, Pay it Forward, Jerry McGuire, Gladiator, Any Harry Potter, The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, The Secret, What the Bleep..., Anything by the Coens (especially O Brother Where Art Thou), The Pursuit of Happiness, Dances with Wolves, Forrest Gump, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Touching the Void, An Inconvenient Truth

Basically anything that gives an emotional tug at showing we are much bigger than we 'think' or 'sense' we are and what we do to overcome adversity to shine in our fullness.

Music - Eclectic and varied tastes. Whatever suits the mood and situation at that particular moment in time.

Books - Where does one start - Don't do a photoreading course is a good start; ), Far, far, far too many to mention (2000+) in numerous and diverse and niche areas of spirituality, physical & health, mental, emotional, finance, sucesss (self-help), manifesting, success etc... etc... etc...

A few I go back to:
- Jonthan Livingstone Seagull.
- 7 Spiritual Laws of Success.
- Let It Be Easy.

Stuff by Tolle, Wayne Dyer, Deepka Chopra amongst others.

I dont watch much, if any TV at all. If I do it has to be educational and not brainmush TV.
