About Me

I quit my job in April and I'm leaving May 7 to travel indefinitely. I worked hard in college for my entrance to the media field, landed a job with a great company, had an amazing girlfriend and not a day went by where I didn't fantasize about traveling without limitations. My hope is to learn unique life lessons from people of the world, picking up useful knowledge on the way, with an overarching goal of becoming my own boss.

I like hiking, sports, reading, writing, telling stories, cooking (and eating!) and learning.

Experiences over possessions.

For years I had this idea of getting a one-way ticket to wherever. This was strengthened after my first trip abroad to Thailand/Vietnam (with a friend). Two experiences traveling solo (Cuba and Guatemala) and I was sold!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to learn from a local's perspective. In Cuba, I stayed mostly with Cuban families (Casa Paticulares is the lodging jam there). It was incredible. Such a fun way see what day-to-day is like for people of the land that drove your curiosity to the point where you're in their home. I also want to meet other travelers, so I plan to split my time between Couchsurfing and hostels. And, obviously, saving money helps a bunch, especially while I'm trying to maintain my desired daily budget in some countries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my job to travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Ample stories of trials and tribulations, peppered with mediocre jokes and overused puns! I've crashed hard and loved hard, along the way I've picked up enough juice to power endless late night conversations. I can share my experience and listen to yours! The essence of sharing travel stories is highly inspiring.

Above all that, I can share my motivation through my actions. I'm following what I want to do by traveling indefinitely, not what my upbringing says I should do. I hope it inspires others to do the same. We only get so many rotations around the sun, I'm trying to learn and enjoy those how I want to.
