About Me

To paddle my canoe till the day I die

I am a camping canoeist. I am fortunate to have the Buffalo Natonal River so close. When it flows, it is a canoe camper's dream. When it doesn't, the Ozarks have several excellent spring fed camping streams including the Current and Eleven Point in Southern Missouri.

Be respectful of nature.
Be willing to accept new ideas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am grateful to live in Arkansas, the Natural State. My couch is where ever I am camping. Mostly on the Buffalo.

I have thoroughly enjoyed each of my CS experiences and I am looking forward to more. MAR 2013: Spent a week couch surfing to and from Canoecopia in Madison WI. Each couch was a very positive and memorable experience.

Canoe camping. Outdoors. Sharing it with others.
Trying to pin down that very elusive thing called truth.

Music, Movies, and Books

Related to paddling and nature(human and otherwise).

Movies and music produced long before most people today were born.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My life began late in life. I was born again when I bought my first canoe in 1999. It has enabled me to live. Prior to that, I existed.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are all afflicted with Cognitive Dissonance.
The greater our religious, social, financial or political affiliation, the greater the affliction.
We hear what we want to hear.
We believe what we want to believe.
Truth becomes irrelevant.
