I want to see the world by the time I am 65 years of age!

ABOUT ME

I am a person who puts my all into anything I try. So many people in life are afraid of the unknown. I try to overcome this by making the unknown into the known! I learn a lot from books, but the best teacher I have found so far is Life Experience.

I am a very goal oriented person, but am not enslaved by my goals. I have set my mind to accomplishing things and I have fulfilled so many of life's dreams so far. My bucket list is so very long, but I am plugging away at it one day at a time!

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to love others. Being a Christian, I believe that Christ taught us to give our lives in service to others. This led me to my first career in International Agricultural Development, helping people feed themselves better, and then to my current career teaching kids in inner-city Los Angeles.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have participated several times as a surfer and several times as a host. It is fantastic!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in various parts of Europe and the USA. I have hosted also. I enjoy helping travelers as I have been helped so many times.

I am interested in so many things. Off the top of my head, I would have to say that soccer and hiking are my two favorites.

I am an avid reader, with historical fiction, biographies, novels, and travel guidebooks always in my next-to-read pile!

I have a subscription to Netflix, so I am rapidly catching up on my movie watching.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

In no particular order, some of my accomplishments include: hiking the Appalachian trail for 153 days from Georgia to Maine, finishing the 2011 Los Angeles Marathon, traveling to half the world so far, helping young minds learn in my classroom.
