About Me

Hello,
I am a live aboard cruiser, Yacht Designer, explorer, friendly low key personality.
I grew up sailing all around the Pacific Northwest and west coast of US down Sand Diego. In 2015 I solo sailed across the Pacific to the Philippines in my 40 ft ketch.

I am a US Coast Guard Captain and veteran sailor but of course sailing is always a new experience every day so it is a continual learning experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have purchased a sailboat in La Paz Mexico that I will be looking for a crew sometime around January 2020 to sail to French Polynesia and beyond. I need someone to help with cooking, cleaning, deck hand, and keeping watch. I prefer single but willing to bring a couple along after I get to know you. No need for experience, I will teach you the basics before casting off and learn the rest on the way. The boat will be equipped with all the normal electronics, sat phone, and unlimited texting.

From La Paz to Marquesas can be 3-5 weeks depending on wind and weather. that is open ocean, so need to be mentally prepared for it but the boat is a heavy cruiser and comfortable to live in with everything a typical house has. After Marquesas, you can either hook up with another yacht, fly home or continue with me through French Polynesia, but I will be picking up another crew in Papeet Tahiti. so that would be your last stop. Can be several month cruise.

I am a very safe professional skipper and have all the necessary safety equipment on board as well as back up systems.
