About Me

Enjoy life, enjoy the journey and the people, be open minded, teach and practice tolerance, and continue to learn every day.

On March 10, 2015, I left the United States (Miami/Key West) to start a multi year/multi country world journey. I'm starting in Central America (learning Spanish in Antigua, Guatemala) for a couple of months, and then I'll continue on - spending most of the remaining part of this year in Central and South America. I'm not exactly sure everywhere that I'll go or how long I'll be gone, but I anticipate being gone 10 - 12 years as I travel through Africa, Europe, China, Japan, Thailand, Nepal, India, Middle East, South Korea, Vietnam, Polynesia, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand etc...

I'm very laid back, down to earth, extremely open minded, liberal, non judgmental. I'm pretty free spirited and I don't have many personal boundaries that prevent me from enjoying life to its fullest. I enjoy sharing new experiences with travelers - to help them enjoy their holidays and create lifetime memories.

I love meeting new people and I love hosting and showing visitors around whatever city I'm in. I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel and learn other cultures. I am always fascinated by them. Everyone has a story to tell, and I am eager to listen. I learn from others daily, and hope that in some way, our paths cross for a reason. I enjoy listening about the journey others have taken in life.

I prefer to host people who enjoy cooking, contributing, hanging out at the beach, camping, kayaking, enjoy live music, good beer and wine, happy hour (not so much late night), movies, game nights at home, and most importantly - those that are open minded/free spirited with a "live and let live/Carpe Diem" mentality and those who just want to relax and enjoy this carefree hedonistic lifestyle that I've grown to love so much.

Updated November 2014 - Due to Couchsurfing Redesign

With the redesign - you can no longer see what groups people have joined. With that said - I'm going to post them here - as it's an important part of YOUR decision as to whether or not you would choose me as a potential host or guest. In the old format - it would show the groups I've joined - and why I joined. I'll do the same here as follows:

Spanish Learning: Because I'm trying to learn Spanish (Rosetta Stone)
7/5/2015 update - Went to Spanish school in Guatemala and can speak a little Spanish now...at least enough to communicate.

Quit Your Job & Travel: It's the best thing that ever happened to me! It's awesome - complete freedom!

Clothing Optional: When I was actively hosting, my place was "clothing optional", and I enjoy being naked.

Massage Exchange: Before I left the U.S., I had a massage table and loved giving my friends and guest relaxing sports massages.

Atheism: I believe in living life to it's fullest - and not bound my man made interpretations of how humans are supposed to live.

Queer Couchsurfers: This is one of the largest groups, and I've met some great people here and shared some great experiences.

Open Minded People: Because these are the only people that I enjoy being around. I appreciate people who can rise above social and political expectations and live their own lives

Wine Lovers Get Together: Because I haven't drank a wine that I didn't like

Beer Lovers: Because I've recently been introduced to REAL beer (stouts and porters) and I love trying new ones.

Board Games: Because I love playing board games - especially when it's raining outside

Kinky CouchSurfers: We all have a naughty side...what's yours?

Couch Wankers: Guilty! I am what I am!

CS Addicts: Because I'm addicted to Couchsurfing and have been since I joined. I try to host as many travelers as possible when I can

Coffee Addicts: Yes please! I love coffee in the mornings - can't live without!

Naked Sleepers: Definitely! This is not a sexual thing - very natural - can't imagine sleeping any other way

Naked @ Home: Because when no one is around....you guessed it!

Porn is Fun: Because ....it is!! I prefer amateur porn...I get bored with professional porn.

Family Guy (cartoon): Because I LOVE Family Guy - the writers are amazing!

Never Grow Up: Because I have a young soul, and life is too short to act like a grown up.

Masturbation: Because it's FUN! I'm typing with one hand right now!

Entrepreneurs: Because I enjoy owning my own business and meeting like minded individual.

Expats: Because they have a wealth of knowledge that I'd love to learn, and hopefully I'll be an Expat soon!

Rainbow Family Network: I'm intrigued by these eco village/intentional communities - would love to check them out!!

Emergency Couch Request: Because my schedule is pretty flexible and I do receive a lot of last minute requests.

Be sure to read "My Home" section also. I'm aware that my profile is "in your face" - that's by default - it keeps the conservative, boring, uptight, and sexually repressed travelers away from me. If that describes you and you are seeking freedom from a trapped/suppressed/monotonous life and want to express yourself freely, I enjoy providing that opportunity. Otherwise - I specifically choose to host guests and request hosts that are on the extreme liberal side - it makes life so much easier - and a hell of a lot more fun!

The world is our playground - it begs us to come play - but WE make our lives so complicated - and the truth is...life is NOT COMPLICATED!

Make it easy - let go - give in - and PLAY!! Explore the world...explore YOUR world - step out - question EVERYTHING - have fun!! Step outside of your personal comfort zone...do something fun/exhilarating, you'll be amazed at how awesome life CAN be! Boundaries are boring and prevent you from enjoying everything that life has to offer! The exhilaration of expanding your boundaries...priceless.

Treat others the way you would want to be treated. If that is the only rule you follow in life, you will have a great life!
"You are a transferable medium. You imprint yourself on people that you meet, speak with, or travel with... in no more than mere random conversation... and when you separate from that person... they will carry you to wherever they go, taking you with them. Knowing that your influence in the world is involuntary... and it's almost completely outside of yourself... do everything you can do make that influence your very best for the world."

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I've been couch surfing now for a while, and I've got to tell you - it's awesome! I've stayed on several couches, I've had many people stay on my couch, and I try to attend as many CS functions as my schedule allows.

I enjoy hosting events, creating opportunities for local couch surfers to meet each others and introduce their friends to the couch surfing community. I hope to meet some more great people, share great discussions and memories, and maybe even make a couple of friends along the way.

I'm on my 8th year of CouchSurfing, and I still think it's awesome! I have made some great acquaintances and friends. I'm always impressed with how cool people are, and how complete strangers are really only friends that you haven't met yet. I can't tell you how many times I've been driving home from work thinking it would be a routine night at home, and then see a last minute couch request..and an hour later I'm hosting some cool person from some random country...it's pretty amazing actually!

Worldwide travel - especially Europe and the Caribbean. Enjoy making new friends, movies, music, cooking, hiking, camping etc..

January 2009, I spent several nights with other couch surfers in Washington D.C. to witness history being made (the inauguration of Barack Obama) It was awesome!
