About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel to a remote island paradise - and recieve college credit for it.

ABOUT ME

How to keep it brief...I'm a gregarious, intellectual sort who loves learning about the world around him. I'm currently training to become an Astrobiologist, meaning that I want to study the possibility of life on other planets. However, my ultimate dream job is to be the bassist for a world-famous rock band. I haven't done much traveling in my life, but I'm hoping that will change in the near future.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel our purpose in life is to contribute to humanity to the best of our abilities. I feel I can contribute best by pushing the boundaries of science. Others contribute best in different ways.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first heard of CouchSurfing very recently from a friend. I have never used the service before, but I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

Interests

I love hiking, playing music and having great conversations, especially with people from other cultures. I love learning about new places, and if you ever need insider information about things to do in San Francisco, I'm your guy.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movies are The Blues Brothers, Apocalypse Now, and Hot Fuzz. I'm obsessed with a huge range of musical acts, but my favorite genres are indie folk (i.e. Fleet Foxes, Beirut) and West African blues (i.e. Amadou & Mariam, Vieux Farka Toure). My favorite book of all time is Life of Pi by Yann Martel. I am anxiously awaiting news on the film adaptation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While visiting Maui, I biked down Haleakala (an active volcano) and went 40 mph, breaking the speed limit. Highly recommend.

Teach, Learn, Share

Did you know that there are at least five other bodies other than Earth in the Solar System which could harbor life? They include Venus, Mars, Jupiter's moon Europa, and Saturn's moons Titan and Enceladus.

Countries I’ve Visited
