About Me
Hello everyone!!
I am an American who just moved back to the states from the Middle Eastern country of Bahrain. I was working out there for over a year for the US military. I am happily married and have a beautiful wife. I absolutely loved it out there in Bahrain and love traveling. I have traveled all over the world and am originally from the great state of Texas. I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and love to cook and eat ALOT. I enjoy cycling, tennis, getting to know the local culture, and meeting new and interesting people wherever I am.
My wife is a behavioral treatment counselor who works with kids on a daily basis. She enjoys playing video games, watching cartoons, singing, dancing, and is always looking to meet new people.
Her and I have been married for 4 years now.
Some of our bucket list places to travel are:
Thailand (and all of SE Asia for that matter)
India
Japan
Spain and Portugal
All of South America and many other places.
In the military I have been stationed all over the United States, on a ship, overseas in the Middle East, the Washington DC area and currently in Dallas, Texas.
Some of the places I have traveled include Spain, Sicily, Naples and Rome Italy, Crete, Athens, Rhodes, Cyprus, Israel, Istanbul, Germany, and the Seychelles Islands.
In the United States, I have lived in multiple states including Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Illinois, Virginia, and Maryland.
I have also visited many places in the states including Austin, San Antonio, New Orleans, Miami, Charleston SC, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Baltimore, Maine, Rhode Island, Pittsburgh, Denver, New Mexico, Boston, Las Vegas, Nashville, Charlotte, etc....
Future travel plans include Spain, SouthEast Asia, and anywhere else that interested my wife and I.
My favorite destination has to be Istanbul, Turkey.
My new favorite food is Indian food, which I have just recently discovered in the Middle East with all the Indian Expats and restaurants everywhere. I also enjoy pretty much every other cuisine, with Mexican being near the top as that is what is all over the place back home in Texas. My wife loves all types of food but we recently were introduced to Basque/Spanish food at a restaurant in the states so have been wanting to take a trip to that area sometime in the future.
My wife and I are HUGE foodies and love to travel and eat local and different types of food.
I love country music as well as many other genres....I am usually not too picky as long as I can have a good time.
We enjoy having a beer or a Margarita every once in a while with friends.
I have hosted people at my place through airbnb while I was living in Bahrain and was one of the first hosts on the website in the whole country. We have also been a guest on airbnb multiple times so have a good perspective of what it is like to host and be a guest in someone's home.
Although we are new to the couch surfing community, I have been a host and a guest on other shared economy websites and have plenty of references and reviews that I can refer you too if there is hesitation in hosting me.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll talk to y'all later.
Thats us!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We am couch surfing so we can meet new and interesting people around the world and make new friends.
We love learning about other people, their experiences, and their cultures. It's important to us to learn as much as I can about people different than ourselves.
We are also believers in paying things forward......so if we was to stay on someones couch one night, I would definitely host someone on my couch another time.
The best experiences we have had in different places around the world were great because of the people I met, not necessarily the places I visited.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book would be anything by Tim Ferriss, including the 4 hour Workweek, 4 Hour Body, and 4 Hour Chef.
My favorite shows include Dexter, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Blacklist, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Narcos, and Blacklist.
I love all shows on the Food Network, Travel Channel, and Discovery....and am a Anthony Bourdain fan.
