About Me

This is my first time trying out couch-surfing, so please treat me gently, haha!

I'm fairly easy-going, and like to live and travel light. I'm a huge fan of tea, arts and crafts, and history.
I love languages, learning them, and living around them, but empirically I don't seem to be very good at it, haha.
I try to avoid eating carnivores, pork, and shellfish, but I'm willing to try most anything at least once!
I love jokes and general laughter. Sometimes I can be a little quiet and need to recharge my energy, but I have nothing but love in my heart.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and meeting new people and communities. There are so many stories in this world, and they are each very precious.

Interests

I enjoy physical disciplines like martial arts and parkour. I like exploring and really carefully feeling my environment. I also enjoy hiking, sailing, reading, and music. Is it too vague to just say I love activities? Haha
Of course as a geographer, I love maps and learning about spatial relationships between things.
I like exploring, but what means the most to me is sharing the experience with lovely friends and companions; That simple shared experience at a meaningful exploration gives me great peace.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like metal, classic rock, punk, blues, jazz, bluegrass, folk, electronica, classical, and more probably. I was raised on Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Moodly Blues, Metallica, James Taylor, and showtunes.

But when all is said and done, I have to say I don't actually spend a lot of time listening to music. Mostly listening to the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not sure I've done anything amazing, but I'm down for all sorts of amazing things :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been a traceur (practitioner of parkour AKA l'art du deplacement) for approximately 6 years. I can share some insights into the discipline, training, and philosophy. I am also currently compelled to get into street art and graffiti, though I am very new to it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook and clean... I can make a pretty neat origami boat from a napkin? Haha!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Nepal

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
