About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To experience as much as possible before I die.. go figure
ABOUT ME
I am an American who has spent almost my entire life overseas as an expatriate. Because of this, I have developed a pretty bad case of wanderlust. I have a tendency to undertake spontaneous trips and projects that catch my interest and I love getting lost.
PHILOSOPHY
I've been blessed with an opportunity to see many amazing places and meet incredible people. My philosophy is simply not to waste those experiences, to learn from them, and to give back when I can. Be kind. Explore. Create.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't have my own place to offer as a couch for prospective surfers yet (I supervise a student dormitory at a boarding school) but I plan on building my experience with CS and getting to know surfers from all over.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have Couchsurfed before and many of my best friends are great hosts, so even though I'm new to the site I have done it a couple of times before and am very familiar with the ins and outs of hosting, guest etiquette and so on!
Interests
Travel and discovery is my passion, but when I'm not doing that, I enjoy cooking and eating all kinds of food, soccer and skiing, and drawing in my sketchbooks while listening to music I enjoy. I take a great interest in listening to the stories of extraordinary people, and I find those people where ever I go. I am a big fan of history and geography and love exploring the past of places and people I encounter.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy historical accounts by people in extraordinary situations, satire and fantasy, travel and adventure. I like to match my music with where I am and how it makes me feel.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sitting alone on the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, watching the sun rise with Johnny Clegg's "Kilimanjaro" on in my earphones was definitely a highlight.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: The beauty of transience. The Third Culture. Current events and geopolitics. "Improvisational" cooking. Wonder at the massive scale of drama and trauma that is the human pageant.
Learn: Patience. New music. How to cook delicious things. Languages. Your story and about the world through your eyes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking, washing your dishes, making tea and telling jokes. I try to leave every place better than when I found it.
