About Me

My name is Robert Filgueira Júnior. I have a degree in Cinema and Television. Six years ago, I began exploring the world, visiting places that were once only part of my reality. Now, it’s time for Eastern Europe. My favorite films were shot there, and I am deeply passionate about medieval history—what fascinates me most are the historical events that shaped this region.

I am creating a YouTube channel to share experiences and cultures, hoping to encounter and tell remarkable stories along the way.

And I made a film as a Director. It's in YouTube.

Living is creating a mural of shared experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling isn’t just about visiting tourist attractions, it’s about writing a book of memories.

As a filmmaker, I’ve always been drawn to stories, especially the ones that don’t appear in guidebooks. Eastern Europe, with its deep medieval roots and layered history, has always lived in my imagination through cinema. Now, I’m finally here to experience it beyond the screen.

I'm not looking for a place to stay or sleep. I'm looking for a place to have memories and goods experiences! Have a friendship. Create a cultural exchange.

I love cooking meals. Especially Brazilian's meals. I enjoy making drinks and have good conversation.

Interests

I’m passionate about cultural exchange and building friendships around the world.
I believe the greatest wealth a person can have isn’t money, but the people they’ve met and the cultures they’ve embraced.
If one day something were written about me, I’d hope it says I connected with people from all walks of life — that I listened, learned, and shared meaningful moments across borders.
Because in the end, what truly lasts are the connections we build.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musics: Singer P!NK, and others music's types (like indie folk and indie rock).
Films: Hitchcock's films, Germany's films (like The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) and Classic's films.
Books: The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and fantasy's fiction books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve explored both Argentine and Chilean Patagonia — landscapes that completely redefine the meaning of vastness.
I’ve traveled across Peru, diving deep into its history and experiencing the legacy of the Inca Empire beyond the postcards.
In Brazil, I’ve attended the country’s two biggest cultural celebrations: the Carnival samba school parades and, as a journalist, I covered the Parintins Folklore Festival — an explosion of art, identity, and tradition.
So far, I’ve visited 20 out of the 26 states in my own country — and I’m still discovering new layers of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love movies and talk about some curiosities's film.
I studied Cinema (graduation) and I like to talk about philosophy's movies (like semiotics's understandings).

I like to know some curiosities about cultures of the place that I'm visiting.

I love listening to people’s stories — my first film as a filmmaker was a documentary.
I’m currently creating a travel YouTube channel, where I hope to interview hosts and learn about their experiences with cultural exchange. I believe hosting someone is like welcoming a piece of their country into your home.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I can offer my hosts:
Great conversation — the kind that flows naturally and lasts longer than planned.
And Brazilian home cooking made with care. I truly enjoy cooking for others, so expect flavor, stories from my country, and a kitchen filled with good energy.
