About Me
ABOUT ME
I would describe myself as friendly and I have a sense of humour. Life's too short to get annoyed about things.
Interests
I have an active lifestyle. I grew up in the countryside but I've lived in cities more recently. I like to read but never during daylight hours (unless I'm in transit). My interests include sitting amongst people and discussing random topics that come up. I hate when people stop mid debate and get their smart phones out to settle a dilemma.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Its hard to pick out a few, but I suppose most recently it has to be Thrissur Pooram in Kerela. The changing of the parasols is an annual festival where two rival temples compete on the back of 12 elephants each opening and closing parasols to the beat of drums. The festival lasts all day and is attended by thousands of people.
I've had an encounter with a black bear with her 3 little cubs camping in the back country of Vancouver Island. We kept our distance but we were still only a matter of yards away. This was a commonly used campsite so the mother bear must have been familiar with humans. Still, when I recounted the story to my Canadian friends afterwards and I told them we followed them for a short bit they said we were incredibly stupid for not getting out of there, as the bear was with her cubs. The most dangerous thing in the Irish countryside is a badger so my ignorance could have got me into trouble on this occasion.
