About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find a place to stay in Korea for the next 3 weeks. :)

ABOUT ME

Inquisitive and open-minded grad student

PHILOSOPHY

I like to think of myself as friendly, pragmatic, open-minded, and as having an international perspective.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm in Korea, using AirBnB. I'll be here until early September. While AirBnB provides a cheap place to stay, I'm more interested in meeting like-minded people and learning more about "real" Korea. Perhaps that means meeting up with you!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. A friend of mine, Inacio, told me about couch surfing and said that he had a terrific time with it. I'm hoping to give it a try now that I'm in Korea.

Interests

I like travel, music, mountain biking, learning, and building things. I started a small, community based 501(c)3 charity and spend a lot of time building it. We have a wiki, forum, chat room, and several other projects. The nonprofit's main site is www.tmswiki.org .

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies/TV: The Wire, The Departed, Rome, Walk the Line, Capote...
Music: Little People, Nick Warren, Bonobo, Macklemore, whatever is on WFNX Boston

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My best travel experience was in Jerusalem, which I visited for a 2 weeks. I am not religious, but almost every day I would walk to the Old City and just wander around, people watching and, interacting with locals, and trying to learn my way around. Such an amazing mix of cultures, history, and passion!

Teach, Learn, Share

Not quite sure what to put here. I know a bunch of economics, math, and finance, but, to be honest, not all that much (don't tell my students). On the plus side, I have taught economics at Boston University and Harvard, and would be happy to share anything I know. I also know the basics of setting up and running an online community, having integrated www.tmswiki.org
