I am from Chile, but now I am studying a PhD in London (but I am living in Bonn, Germany, with my partner, who is also studying a PhD). I used to work in wildlife research, but now I am more into human dimensions of environment. I still like wildlife, specially birds (I am a birdwatcher). Also I love to know about the human world (different culture, languages, customs, etc.). I just started to doing kayak in the Rhine river, and it is amazing. I like to cook also but my partner is much better than me (so I love to eat as well).

Interests

First, I love to be natural areas, I am a birdwatcher, and an amateur photographer. Also, I am doing kayak in the Rhine river, and I like football, and I always use the bike. I read a lot (specially for my studies and research work). I love to eat and to cook (specially with my partner, she cooks amazing!!). I like to travel, and to know different cultures, I always read about the history and customs of places before going there (and I love flags).

I like 70's music such as Pink Floyd, King Crimson, The Door, Led Zeppelin, also classic reggae (Peter Tosh, Gregory Isaac, Bob Marley...), and some african music such as Tinariwen, Salif Keita, Touré Kunda, as of course chilean classics; Inti Illimani, Victor Jara, Los Jaivas...
Books; I love to read environmental history, and novels based on travels or fiction history. Also I have my bird guide books (I can't be without).
About movies, I like latinamerican films, historical and alternatives-history, some science fiction as well, and book-based films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was the coordinator of a bird census that take place 4 times a year (we are in year 11!!!!), I made the web-page also: www.grupohuala.wordpress.com
We had more than 200 people of all ages during our 10 years. All self-managed and self-funded.

Also:
I was 5000 meters above sea level, in the Atacama Dessert.
I visited Tierra del Fuego, at the Southern limit of American continent, and I sailed among glaciers in Patagonia.

I love to teach; my main topics of general interest that I can teach are: Birds, ecology, chilean geography, languages. And I love lo learn (I have been studying almost all my life).
