My name is Robin Brooks, I am 18 years old and am currently living in Griemshorst, just outside of Hamburg, Germany, for a stay of 8-9 months with a friend who I met when he traveled near my home-Vancouver Island. I am very close to my family and friends but sought out this opportunity to broaden my cultural understanding, language skills, and self-fulfillment. I intend on seeing as much as I can without missing anything on my way. Hopeful to meet some interesting people with good vibes too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined couch surfing originally thinking it would save me money traveling, but while reading reviews and hearing stories my reason changed. I see it as a good opportunity to dive into the culture and true lives of various countries and cities, while meeting interesting people with similar interests and who may know what to see and when to see it, and why of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a variety of music and am never picky. Although lately my time hasn't allowed for a lot of it, I highly enjoy reading; mostly non-fiction due to my desire for self-education.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked for an efficiently reproductive logging company by the name of Helifor starting at the young age of 17, and used the money from that to move from Vancouver Island to Hamburg for 8 months of travel.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not certified to teach English but would be ecstatic to share what I can of my native language. I have spent a large amount of time learning about environmental issues and zero waste lifestyles and would love to help implement such skills and interest in even the smallest ways possible. I can share a love of art and music, and lots of knowledge regarding the West Coast.

I can share help with anything needed during my stay, a possible travel partner/friend, basic english skills, knowledge on minimal waste, and good vibes.
