I quit my job as a civil engineer in 2018, and since then have been backpacking around the world including East Africa, Central America, Australia and Southeast Asia. I love seeing new places, meeting new people, and just life in general!

I grew up in the Yukon in northern Canada. It is an incredible, beautiful and rugged place and growing up there made me love and appreciate wilderness, nature, wildlife, and silence. But I have always loved travelling and learning about history and culture in every corner of the world (or at least as much as I can afford!), and the best way to do that is meeting and getting to know people. I love how quickly you can make genuine connections with people you meet when travelling, and it is our differences as much as our similarities that make people amazing!

Looking for a cool way to meet people and see the world (and save a little money :P)! I like meeting open-minded and kind people, and I think if you are willing to invite strangers to stay at your home, you are probably pretty awesome!

Everybody says it but I genuinely like a bit of pretty much every type of music. On any day I could be listening to Arctic Monkeys, Kygo, Metallica, Neil Young, Kendrick, Guns n Roses, Marian Hill.. almost anything!

I read quite a lot and one of my favourite feelings is when you find a book that you can’t put down :) some favourites are the Wheel of Time series, Harry Potter (of course), the American War, and lots more I can’t think of right now!

I like movies that make you think! I like a good scary movie, or one with a good twist that keeps you guessing. Some favourite directors would be Christopher Nolan, Taika Waititi and Scorsese.

I love learning new things! I taught myself to play guitar which I really enjoy in my spare time, and I am also enjoying learning photography, which is really fun to experiment with in my travels. I am going to Indonesia in October to do my PADI Divemaster course in scuba diving, and I’m excited to see where that goes.

As for teaching people things... I think I have plenty to offer so ask and you can find out!
