Overview
About Me
Hello, I'm Robin
I see myself as a calm and respectful person constantly looking for new adventures. I don’t get stressed out too much and take things as they are. When I am in Hamburg, I am working or playing theatre but always find some extra time to spend with people. Something I like doing is ask intriguing questions. I am looking forward to meeting new people and getting different impressions of people's world views. Certainly I must not forget to mention that dancing is straight up awesome, anytime, anywhere.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I discovered my interest for travel in 2022 when the lockdowns came to an end and have enjoyed travelling ever since. I mostly travel alone and enjoy getting to know the locals, that's how I eventually ended up trying out Couchsurfing. I am interested in the unique experiences still to come here.
How I travel:
I am visiting cities by just wandering off into the streets and discover the city this way. I am more interested in how the city operates than the main sights. This is also why I came to CouchSurfing. If the hosts have the time, I am more than happy to be shown around or sit together to spend some time together.
How I host:
I prefer to host for 1-2 days only as I have many things going on and hosting someone is an extra layer on top. I do not want to be just a hotel, so for the stay I also make sure to reserve some time for the guests to show around Hamburg and/or to invite for some of the activities I have throughout the week.
For these reasons I also expect requests to be at least slightly personalised to see that you put in the effort to read the profile. As such please answer what your spirit animal is in a request that you send me.
Also keeping up with my Spanish is a good side effect. Es un placer charlando en Español.

Music, Movies, and Books
My Music taste usually changes every couple of months but you can never go wrong with 80s music. Also do not underestimate my passion for Balkan Beats.
On the movie or series front I occasionally watch some melancholic ones but for the most part I enjoy comedies. All time favourite will probably "Life of Brian" but there are several clever movies out there, competing with chaotic movies like the ones from Guy Ritchie.
Sadly I do not read many books nowadays anymore but on longer train rides I enjoy some fantasy novels: "Skulduggery Pleasant".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling without a phone for weeks without prior arrangements to just go with the flow.
And generally be interested not interesting.
Teach, Learn, Share
This is going to be a chaotic small arrangement:
- Some dance moves, let it be classical ballroom dances or some electro swing
- of course I can give some basic insights into German and Spanish
- some juggling
- folding (cool) paper planes
- some improv games
What I Can Share with Hosts
In exchange for hosting me I am of course prepared to also help out where I can but as I am not a skilled cook, I can sadly not share some interesting meal with my hosts. Hopefully we can find something nice to share together :)
