ABOUT ME
I'm a pretty open and easy-going person. I really love to get glimpses into other peoples realities and see a bit of what their world is like.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can't really host anyone in my current living situation, but I'm more than happy to meet up with people for coffee or drinks, especially lesbian, bi, gay or queer people and introduce them to the city as best I can (though who knows why you'd be in Brive!)
Interests
I love literature and theatre. It's really rare for me to visit a city without checking out at least one local bookstore and maybe picking up a small book of poems (especially if there's any Anne Carson, June Jordan, or Louis MacNeice around). I'm also really involved in activism and community organizing. I'm fairly involved in the queer community back in Berkeley, as well as doing human rights activism with Amnesty International, so it goes without saying that I'm a bit of a news junky and I love talking about politics. On a less serious note, I really enjoy going out and having adventures, whether it's hiking up a hillside at night or deliberately losing myself in a new city.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Riding with Dykes on Bikes in SF Pride was pretty darned great.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've done language exchanges with a couple people where I teach them a bit of a language I speak & they teach me a bit of one they speak, or even slanguage exchanges if we're both anglophones from different regions (which often leads to hybrid slang expressions like "hella grand"!)
I also have been a cook at my coop so I'm pretty okay at making large quantities of good tasting vegan food (and I can teach you how to make Macgyver bread!)
I also taught a class about queer comic books, so I have a more than passing knowledge of that.
