Walking, bicycling if the hills are not too big, knitting, keeping up with kids and grandkids, swimming, gardening, reading (fiction - recently read My New American Life by Francine Prose; non-fiction - example The Secret Life of Lobsters; mysteries - continually re-read the Nero Wolfe mysteries; youth fiction - recently read Beggar's Daughter that was classed as youth fiction, but to me it was thought provoking and enjoyable; frequent small doses of Zen Flesh Zen Bones, The World According to Mr. Rogers and the like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was awestruck in 1963 watching the March on Washington and wishing I could be there.

As a labor and delivery nurse in the 1970's I was awestruck at every birth I attended except the ones where something was complicated that had to be dealt with.

I am awestruck nearly every day by small things like seeing a bee gather nectar from a flower in my backyard or watching a toddler walk along holding a grown-up's hand.
