Career & lifestyle history:

1998 - 2007: After leaving the Bay in 2000, lived primarily in PB and OB with some time in Mission Beach and Clairemont.
Spent almost a decade in the subprime mortgage industry from the time I was twenty years old. Used the money to take care of my little brother in the Marines along with a few more boys in with him along with friends finishing school and starting a career. Sometimes friends of friends as well. Super social with a lot of close friends. Spent most of my time partying and playing sports with a little bit of volunteering from time to time. Adopted my amazing dog, Layla.

2008 - 2011: Lived in the Bay (give SF a shot for career from time to time) and primarily in OB. Also spent some time Bay Park & other places around the county.
Finished writing a book (that didn't get picked up at that time) and three years in matchmaking, mostly in SF & LaJolla! Amazing experience but I hadn't finished my education or realized my dreams as a writer & traveler, so walked away from funding to start my own elite matchmaking service.

2011 - 2015: Lived in the Bay and primarily OB. Also spent seven months on an old wooden yacht in Shelter Island along with short stints at other places around the county.
Went back to school to finish my degree. During that time, I also started writing for a luxury lifestyle magazine based in SD County and doing a little PR, Marketing and Sales. Lost my fur-baby, pushing me over the edge to take the big leap to where I am now.

2011 - Present: OB is still where I consider home base. I've stayed in the Bay, though I will no longer be from this point on, and around other parts of SD and world since I now have added travel into my lifestyle.
Once again working on getting the book I wrote out and improving the blog mentioned above successful enough to monetize. Doing random freelance work to fund these goals by way of freelance writing, rideshare, delivering for Amazon, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While still in the chaos of figuring out the lifestyle I've always dreamed of as a writer and global traveler (one year in), looking to couchsurf, Airbnb, find temp sublets, etc.

Besides the obvious benefit of saving money, especially when on such a tight budget, I've found this to be a great way to get to know the city and people I love so much.

In the little free time I have, I enjoy checking out different restaurants with friends, especially if there is good cheese and wine, BBQing, volunteering, hiking, going to the spa, camping, live music, gala/fundraisers, the arts, festivals, networking in such groups as the Chamber of Commerce, anything around/in water community events and anything Burning Man. In other words, eclectic.
