About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To eventually become an interesting and amazing grandmother.
ABOUT ME
I am a proud Texan, but I hope in all the ways that are endearing and not those that are annoying. I like seeing and experiencing different things because they leave you with a memory that you can access when you want or need to. I think these things can range from something simple like walking around a park in my hometown to witnessing a religious ceremony on the other side of the world. Right now I have the travel bug, and may always, but I know now is the time to go places because I might be limited later on.
PHILOSOPHY
I read a comparison once of life to a fictional story. Real life ends up having lesser highs and higher lows. So we exaggerate our highs and lows. I try to tell myself when thing feel too overwhelming or miserable, that I'm just making the situation more dramatic than it is and calm down.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have stayed in a couch surfer, had my couch open for surfers (but no offers), answer questions I get from other surfers and attend some meetups.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I traveled on my own in Busan, South Korea during my summer vacation. I met up at a CS meetup and met a lot of couch surfers living and traveling in the area. I even ended up making friends with some other female couch surfers and we all surfed together.
Interests
I am bad at keeping hobbies. I pick them up and drop them off periodically. Some of the things that cycle through my "hobbies" list include: painting, puzzles, cooking, yoga, and sewing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I learned some xhosa while in South Africa and I am able to say the clicking letters. I was part of a Xhosa welcome ritual at one of my homestays. Surfed in the Indian Ocean. Snorkeled with sea turtles in Mexico. Kissed a stingray in the Grand Caymans. Hugged two of my best friends in Hong Kong at New Years. Mud festival in Korea.

Learn to eat local food. Not local specialties, but what everyone is eating at home.
