About Me
updated March 2024
I live in Montreal and work in telecommunications supporting innovation and change in critical communications and community health response for first responders.
Couchsurfing is awesome; I traveled UK and Germany through CS when I was in my 20s, and I've hosted dozens of CS guests.
My interests are diverse and varied: music, dance, art, sport, culture, politics, community. I love human performance whether it's in art or in sport. I dedicate a lot of time to drinking coffee at cafes and reading the news.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
updated March 2024
For many years I hosted people at my former apartment in Ottawa, probably starting around 2005, until about 2015. I moved to Toronto (grind), changed careers.
Now I live in Montreal and have a loft apartment with a second spare bedroom I am willing to share with Couchsurfers. I'm also away for work often and have lent my place to people from CS while I'm away, if they seem particularly trustworthy.

Books - Fight Club
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flying airplanes, particularly gliders (nothing but the sound of wind) playing music.
My favourite clubs / music venues in the world:
- Mercury Lounge / Barrymore's (Ottawa)
- Metropolis (Montreal)
- Cross Club (Prague)
- Caseiopia (Berlin)
- The Seahorse (Halifax)
- Batofar (Paris)
- Paradiso (Amsterdam)
.... I prefer Amsterdam to Paris, and Paris to London, and now that I have visited Berlin, I don't know where to fit it in. I grew up in the Canadian Maritimes, and Cape Breton Island and the Bay of Fundy are amazing images in my mind I take everywhere I go in life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I provide regular advice to musicians and other artists on touring, marketing and various other industry mechanics. I like to talk about Canadian and international politics, human rights issues, music, art, etc.
