About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I aim to discover new places, faces, and ideas.

ABOUT ME

I teach at an international school in SAN Jose Costa Rica. This means my weekends involve lots of adventures and lots of free time to travel and meet new people. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted friends from out of the country on my couch before, and would love to meet new and interesting people from out of the area. I also look forward to stepping out of my rainy little nook and travel and meet new and interesting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted some really great travelers from Sweden to the Czech Republic. I've only couch surfed once, which was in Dublin. I can't wait to try it again soon!

Interests

I love to play music in local bands, ride motorcycles, raise chickens, read young adult lit and work on my old house. Traveling has been a fairly recent discovery and I'm more excited than ever to experience what the world has to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: High Fidelity, Tombstone, Goodbye Stalin, The Goonies and The Princess Bride.

Books: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Harry Potter, Maus, The Complete Idiot's Guide series, any three of Kenneth C. Davis history books.

Music: I just really got into soul music a year ago. I love Sharon Jones, James Hunter, Sam Cooke, Sam and Dave, Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin. I also really love more of your college indie music type things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hm, riding my motorcycle through Costa Rican rush hour traffic has been a daily event. Road tripping through Ireland in a Ford Fiesta was pretty great as well. Cliff jumping off the southern coast of S. Korea. Yeah, probably that.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've got really into baking pizzas for friends recently and use it as a way to bring people together and eat good food. I'd gladly bake you a pizza if you're hosting! :) I do teach English and History for a living and love to learn the history of anywhere I travel. I also play guitar and would love to play music or teach music to people. I love to talk music, books, and history. Oh, and I'm trying to learn Spanish right now!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Colombia, Ireland, Mexico, Nicaragua, South Korea, Spain, United States
