ABOUT ME

I think I am kind of young for my age. I'm healthy and athletic, I love hiking and biking and kayaking and cross-country skiing. I love sunshine and beauty--mountains, oceans, beaches, cities, architecture, color. I am a vegetarian and I care fiercely for the earth, people and animals. I try to minimize the damage. My friends and colleagues have described me as passionate, creative, aware, honest, expressive, authentic, and one of a kind. I'm a writer (songwriter, book writer, memoir writer) and musician and graphic artist. I adore dogs (though not actually the little ones so much!). I love to read. I love thoughtful and provocative conversation. I love gardens, thrift stores, yoga, discovering new places. I am a romantic at heart (I'm a sucker for happy endings). My close friendships are really important to me. I like magic. I appreciate complexity. I love to be active outdoors, but I also love to play Scrabble or veg out to a movie. I can be lazy. I like to lay in the grass or on the beach and look at the sky. I make good tequila drinks. But I don't drink much--I get buzzed on half a glass of wine or beer. I love food. I love to cook. Some women like clothing and jewelry stores. I am in heaven at a good whole-foods grocery store. I am a student of Integral/Evolutionary Enlightment, a spiritual path that very pragmatically involves developing yourself so you can live and act consciously beyond the hardwiring of ego, with the goal being if enough of us do this, we help human culture and consciousness evolve as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is better left for conversation--my "favorites" list for books, music and movies run into the hundreds for all three. Suffice to say I love all three.
I'l say this: I enjoy folk, Americana, singer-songwriter, and even country music; for movies I like dramas, comedies, romantic chick-flicks, happy endings, justice being served, and anything well-written, well-acted, well-shot and well-directed; and books...I love books. I LIVED in the library when I was a kid and I even like to SMELL books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The sunsets in my mountains where I live in Tucson AZ seem amazing to me every day. I almost got hit by lightning on a bike in SW Utah once. I dove into a ditch.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm open to learning just about anything. Especially languages and about local cultures I may visit. I don't intend to teach unless someone wants to be taught, but I love to share my knowledge of herbal medicine and natural healing (I wrote two books on the subject) and songwriting (I'm an award-winning songwriters with 2 CDs). I'm a good cook and I know food ingredients and what natural products are good.
