About Me

Hi, I’m Robyn—professional vibe curator, part-time herbal potion maker, and full-time enthusiast of life’s little absurdities. Born and raised in South Africa, but I seem to have developed a habit of collecting passport stamps, awkward airport stories, and friends in unexpected places.

When I’m not blending ancient wellness rituals with modern tech (casual), I’m usually hunting down the best street food, making playlists no one asked for, or dramatically narrating life as if I’m the star of a coming-of-age movie.

I’m social, clean, respectful, and absolutely here for quality conversation over quantity of tourist attractions. If you’re into cultural exchanges, chaotic cooking sessions, or just need a hype person for your city, I’m your girl.

So, let’s make some memories—or at least some really good leftovers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Honestly? Because hotels are boring, small talk is exhausting, and I firmly believe the best way to experience a new place is through the eyes of someone who actually lives there and knows where the good snacks are.

I’m here for the stories you won’t find on TripAdvisor, the random late-night kitchen chats, and the kind of connections that make you forget we were strangers an hour ago. I’ve traveled to over 50 countries, and if there’s one thing I know, it’s that the people make the place.

Also, I much prefer sleeping on a couch with character than in a sterile hotel room that smells like industrial carpet cleaner. So here I am. Let’s swap some stories, share some food, and create a wildly unnecessary inside joke we’ll reference for years.

Music, Movies, and Books

My Favourite Music:
Anything that feels like a soundtrack to a slow morning or a late-night kitchen dance party. Think neo-soul, deep house, Afro beats, old-school R&B, and the occasional jazzy lo-fi moment. Basically, if it makes you sway, I’m into it. Bonus points for anything with drums, poetry, or a beat that feels like home.
My Favourite Books:
I live for books that feel like medicine for the soul—think memoirs, spiritual wellness reads, poetry, and anything with a bit of magic or ancient wisdom woven in. Currently obsessed with bell hooks, Rupi Kaur, and anything that breaks down healing in ways our ancestors would approve of.
My Favourite Movies:
Give me travel films, cozy indie dramas, documentaries about people living off-grid, or anything where the main character completely reinvents their life. I also have a soft spot for quirky rom-coms, unapologetic feel-good films, and the kind of movies that make you want to quit your job and move to a Greek island.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I somehow convinced the universe (and a few hiring managers) to let me live on remote islands and luxury cruise ships, traveling to over 50 countries before I turned 30—all while getting paid to tell people to drink more water and breathe deeply. Basically, I turned the whole world into my office, curated wellness for the jet-lagged, and mastered the art of pretending I wasn’t slightly sunburnt at all times.

Some people collect stamps... I accidentally collected global burnout recovery stories and a mild addiction to airport snacks. Wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to turn everyday herbs into magical healing potions, share the secrets of self-care rituals from around the world, and show you how to make a proper cup of tea that may or may not fix your life.

I’m always keen to learn local recipes, hidden gems of your city, and any wildly unnecessary life skills (juggling? sheep herding? surprise me).

And I’m here to share stories, laughter, playlists, travel hacks, and the gentle art of making sure everyone’s water bottle is refilled and their energy stays ✨ immaculate ✨.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What can I share with my hosts? Well, besides unmatched vibes and questionable dance moves, I come armed with herbal hacks, stories from 50+ countries, and a playlist so good it might accidentally start a kitchen party. I’ll happily whip up a soulful meal from whatever’s lurking in the fridge, spill some travel tales (the weirder, the better), and keep the good energy flowing—whether that’s through deep chats or just making sure the dishes are done. Basically, I’m part guest, part wellness guru, part unofficial house DJ... and 100% here for the vibe.
