CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to travel from Mexico to Peru, passing through Central America! I want to get to know the people, the cultures, the landscape and the food that is to found in these countries!

ABOUT ME

My name is Roderick and I´m 29 years old. I am a enthousiastic, happy, curious and outgoing person who loves to meet new people and always looks at the bright side of life! I was born in The Hague, the Netherlands but must admit I love to travel! I´ve been to Spain about 9 years ago, were i learnt spanish and got started working in the kitchen. Since then, haven´t left the kitchen and completed my education at The Hague University. My education entails a lot of communication, cultures and foreign languages. One of the reasons why I travelled from Mexico to Peru, and now down under!

PHILOSOPHY

I think people should do what makes them happy, not what society tells them to do. I think that everyone should go out there and explore the world! I makes you grow as a person and experience other ways of life. I know people that are way to busy with making lots of money and a career. There is more to life than this. Go see the world and live your life like you want it to be!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I´m cooking dinner for sure! And when I get back to Holland I´m planning to buy a kick-ass couch for travallers to sleep on!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This actually will be my first time couchsurfing, since this is the first time I´m travelling without work. Usually i would travel and work, which would provide me with a place to stay. Do have some friends who were really positive about couchsurfing, so that got me curious!

Music that suits my mood, but definitely all kinds. jazz, rock, house, indie, reggae, dance, blues, hiphop you name it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I´m doing one right now! But last year I worked in the kitchen in Morgins, Zwitserland for 4 months. To live in the mountains like that, was pretty amazing!
