About Me

"To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of Life." - Walter Mitty

I'm one of those people that moved around a lot as a child. I went back and forth between Mexico and the US and moved around within those countries too. I'm a pretty laid back person that enjoys meeting new, interesting, people and making new friends. I love all things nature and being surrounded by it which translates to going climbing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, etc., as often as I can.

You're welcome to join me on any activities or adventures I might be having while you're here, but certainly not required to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm definitely a travel enthusiast so enabling other people to travel is something I enjoy doing. I've actually never been a couch surfer myself but meeting people by hosting has been a very positive experience so far. I have no doubts it will continue to be one.

I'm sure eventually I'll do a little surfing myself I just haven't had the opportunity yet.

Interests

I have too many interests to list them all but I'll give it a try!
I love anything related to acrobatics and fantasy. I used to be a diver and pretended to be a gymnast when I was in college. I'm an avid rock climber now which I love. I enjoy good books, good music, and good food although I suppose everyone does. I love learning and trying new things. I would know everything there is to know about everything if I could. And I really do mean everything, even the things that make people uncomfortable!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
The Lord of the Rings, The Foundation, Stoner, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Ishmael, too many to name...

Music:
Anything acoustic, trance, acoustic trance, singer-songwriter, piano, guitar, indie, jazz/bluegrass/folk, and modern classical. Anything complex or with feeling. Good lyrics make the best songs, but there's nothing like an acoustic piano piece played with feeling.

Video games:
The Witcher I, II & III, Dark Souls II, Divinity: Original Sin, Baldur's Gate, Super Smash Bros., Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Rocket League...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked across the Norwegian wilderness for a week with nothing but a backpack: stood on Trolltunga, forded waist high ice cold rivers, chased lemmings around in the bushes, met random strangers in tiny little cabins, and drank the cleanest, coldest stream water I've ever been able to find.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
Spanish.
Computers, website and internet stuff.

Intro Physics.
Rock climbing.
Basic wilderness survival/stuff.

Learn:
I love learning just about everything, especially:
Languages.
Anything you have expertise in.
What makes people tick.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be happy to share whatever I have.
I have a small kitchen but I cook often and large portions. You'd be welcome to join me for meals if you trust my cooking.

When you stay at my place it's your place too. So you can basically expect to be able to use anything you'd expect to find in a normal apartment.

Countries I’ve Visited

England, France, Guatemala, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mexico, United States
