Hi, my name is Rodney. I was born in Darwin in the Northern Territory and moved to Brisbane in 2005. I enjoy hiking, yoga, rock climbing, going to the beach and surfing. I lived in Brisbane for a while and in June 2023 I moved to the Gold Coast.

If you have a place to stay already I am happy to show you around or meet for a drink or meal. I work as an accountant and generally have time in the evenings or on the weekends. I enjoy learning languages and have learnt a bit of French and German so it would be nice to be able to practice with someone.

I can show you some markets, National Parks, beaches, or places of interest around the Gold Coast which I am yet to fully explore. If you are interested in surfing or learning how to surf I have a spare board and you are also welcome to come and join me.

I have been hosted once before through another hosting site and found it was a great experience so would like to return that favour when I am able to. I have travelled by myself overseas and know how grateful I have been when locals have given up their time to meet me. I love nature and enjoy getting out and showing people whether friends or strangers the beautiful places in and around Brisbane/Gold Coast. I also enjoy learning about the backgrounds of people I meet, their culture, what their country is like and their travel stories! If you speak a language I am learning that is great too.
