I'm a 26 years old graduate student at University of Chile

Interests

I'm really fascinated with the investigative aspects of Continuum Mechanics, in particular, Non Linear Elasticity and Biomechanics. I hope to finish my M.Sc program in Chile to enter a Ph.D in Biomechanics, to study the mechanical behavior of soft and hard tissue like arteries or bone.

I love teaching. Here in my university I work as teaching assistant in five different courses related to Solid Mechanics and Material Sciences. Also I work teaching chemistry to people in school and help them to enter to the University. Here in Chile there is a very problematic system to enter, with high differences between people with high and low incomes. I do free classes to people who can't afford them, in order to help them enter the university.

As you see, my interests are very geeky, hahaha, but there's a lot more!!

Music, Movies, and Books

- Epic fantasy books, like the very well known Lord of the Rings and others like the Kingkiller Chronicles and the Malazan Book of the Fallen (reading the 7th book, no spoilers please!).

- Doom, Thrash and Death Metal! Also, lots of the classics of classic rock (Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Deep Purple, The Doors, etc.). Also Cocteau Twins and No Doubt as the greatest exceptions

- Cooking, although I don't know a lot of my local cuisine, there's always something I can invent.

- Learning languages, even though I've never been so dedicated. I've tried to learn French, Russian and even Latin. I CAN PROVIDE HELP WITH THE SPANISH LANGUAGE.

- Play music! I play guitar and bass, and some keyboard. I love to get on a stage and play and sing and get everybody crazy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a demo published with a Thrash Metal band I formed with friends in Chile, called Spinal. We played four gigs and split up, but our work is there, destroying ears!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach any subject related to mathematics, physics and chemistry at a basic and intermediate level, and related to materials science and solid mechanics!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A huge exchange of cultural informacion about South America and Chile. I'm eager to learn about other cultures and share about mine. I can tell you what to do during an earthquake, we have A LOT of them, hahaha
