CURRENT MISSION

Walking from Lausanne to Rome. Actually it's part two of this mission as I walked from the Netherlands to Lausanne in 2012.

ABOUT ME

I'm a very social type of guy. Always in for a talk and interested in others. I love my wife and I'm a bit crazy as I'm trying to walk to Rome from the Netherlands.

PHILOSOPHY

My hiking to Rome has had a deep impact on how I look at people as I encountered so many friendly people. I met a lot of hospitality and willingness to help me that it blew me away sometimes. We are quite remarkable as humans in that as we also see a lot of violence in e.g. the middle east or the Ukraine. This puzzles me during my long walks.

兴趣

Topics of my interest are; cycling (I don't own a car), hiking, traveling and the big questions in life, such as "how to brew the perfect espresso or latte macchiato?"

Sailing on the Atlantic ocean nearby Capetown, South-Africa while 18 male whales were chasing a female and she tried to hide under our boat...Incredible impressive!
