ABOUT ME

I'm a dutchy. This means i am practical, straight forward and direct (and apparently, we come across a bit rude now and then). I'm a bit of an introverted guy so i'm not quite sure what to write about myself here, there is no way i can accurately paint you a picture of who i am with just words.

I am perhaps a bit shy, but in my mind i try to challenge myself as much as i can by putting myself into situations that scare me a bit. It's the reason i like rock climbing and traveling, it's against my nature to be this adventurous but i find the rewards are very much worth it. I'm interested in other people, especially people who try to live life unexpectedly (as i dream of doing that myself) and full of surprises. I am very much inspired by films about this sort of thing too (think along the lines of "into the wild" "180 south" and "craigslist joe").

I don't know if i'm any good at writing somehting like this summary because i think i'm not really sure what i want to say about myself, i'm better at meeting someone in real life. Maybe one day i'll have the pleasure to meet you?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done a two week trip to try couchsurfing and found it to be awesome. That's why i'd like to try hosting as well. I've just moved into a new place where i finally have that option so feel free to try my hospitality!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did a two week city trip to try couchsurfing once. I went to Berlin, Prague and Paris. It was awesome! Such a great way to meet people and spend some time in a place as if you actually live there, instead of being a tourist.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I have worked as a mechanical engineer in Solar Team Twente, a team of 18 students from varying backgrounds who in one year design, build and test a solar powered car. With this car we have participated in the World Solar Challenge, a 3000 km long race through the heart of australia. We raced for five days, had a big crash and finished in eighth position. It has been the most amazing oppurtunity i have ever had in my life and i learned more from it than i can begin to describe.
