If you subscribe to the idea that people should be reckoned by their deepest dreams and desires (which I do), then I am an immortal space-dwelling transgender pirate ninja who travels the universe battling totally unambiguous evil and throwing wicked dinner parties. Sigh.

If, on the other hand, you colour people in with what they do, you should know that I spend most of my time agonising over words. I mean *agonising*. Take this from somebody who loves them: words are awful bloody things, best handled using the sort of apparatus reserved for weapons-grade plutonium. Adorable tykes though, really.

I am also sort of addicted to climbing on things, preferably rocks, because doing so is one of the few things that makes me forget the outrageous absurdity of my existence. If that statement strikes you as laughably dramatic, it is distinctly possible that you will find me just so.

You probably also ought to know that I tend to wear makeup, because: I like it; the gender binary is totally made up; the patriarchy can take its male privilege and, well, yes.
