About Me

I'm happily retired and living in Guanajuato Mexico with my dear companion Charlie, a rescued street dog. I feel very grateful to live in this vibrant mini-city and enjoy sharing this city with visitors. Before retiring, I worked in Computer Architecture. Now I spend my time supporting the international meditation community through meditationchapel.org, doing Tai Chi, cooking vegan meals, writing, and walking the streets of Guanajuato with Charlie.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a large house and I think it would be fun to share it with visitors from different places and backgrounds. I would especially like to meet other vegans so that we can learn cooking styles from each other. I would also like to meet others with a deep spiritual connection, so we can share experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly listen to live music in Guanajuato. We have an amazing symphony orchestra and wonderful musicians from all over Mexico. My absolute favorite is the music of Veracruz. Most of my reading centers around Contemplative Spirituality and Diet/Health. I am currently reading Dr. Gregor's How Not to Age.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have written a number of books, including Wisdom's Way, The Christian I Ching. This is a reinterpretation of the Chinese classic, The I Ching, from a mystical Christian perspectve. I just finished writing a spiritual/historical fiction book titled The Wisdom Bearer of Magdala. This is a reinterpretation of the Mary of Magdala legend. These two books are the most amazing things I have done, at least, so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share Vegan cooking recipes. My cooking styles include fermentation, sprouting, and preparing my homemade ginger ale. I can also share some of the wonderful Mexican culture, language, and traditions that I have been fortunate to have learned. If you can help me improve my Spanish, that would be awesome! And please, show me some of your vegan cooking, especially from other countries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not planning on doing much traveling, but I can share my cooking with you. That would be fun!
