About Me

🌍 About Me

Hey fellow travelers! I’m Rohan Agrawal, a 23-year-old environmentalist and long-term explorer from India. For the past 5+ years, I’ve been walking and hitchhiking across Asia, covering over 30 states and union territories of India, and traveling through Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia,Laos, and Vietnam 🇮🇳🇧🇩🇳🇵🇧🇹🇲🇲🇹🇭🇲🇾🇱🇦🇰🇭🇻🇳.

My journey is inspired by ancient Gurukul principles, especially the concept of Desatan — a traditional practice of traveling to understand diverse cultures, languages, religions, and ways of life. I also draw deep inspiration from Swami Vivekananda, especially his teachings on Vedanta, fearlessness, and service to humanity.

🌱 My Mission

The soul of my journey is to spread environmental awareness, especially among the younger generation. I visit schools, colleges, and communities, and even engage with local leaders and lawmakers, to promote climate consciousness and sustainable living. I believe conversations, stories, and shared meals can plant powerful seeds of change.

❄️ My Goal

I’m on an adventurous mission to reach Oymyakon in Siberia — the coldest inhabited place on Earth (-72°C) — entirely by land, crossing 20+ countries along the way. This is not just a physical journey, but a spiritual and social mission to connect with people and spread the message of environmental care across cultures.

💡 How I Support Myself

Many people ask how I keep going —
I support myself by sharing my skills, such as:
• Teaching (languages, storytelling, environmental awareness)
• Cooking (especially Indian & vegetarian cuisine)
• Volunteering at farms, hostels, homestays, and communities
• Managing places, helping with creative projects, or event organizing
Sometimes people also support me with donations, food, or a place to stay, which I’m deeply grateful for 🙏

🌿 Personal Lifestyle

I’m a strict vegetarian — I don’t eat meat, fish, eggs, or animal by-products.
I don’t smoke, and while I rarely drink, I may enjoy a glass in good company 🍷.
I’m deeply passionate about cooking, especially South Indian dishes, and I absolutely love coffee (seriously, I can talk about coffee all day ☕).

Nature gives me energy — I feel most alive in forests, mountains, rivers, and under the stars 🌌. I might seem shy at first, but once I feel at home, I become very open, talkative, and social 😊

🙏 Gratitude & Couchsurfing

This journey has been full of kindness, stories, and soulful connections.
Couchsurfing has given me a second family in many places, and I’m forever thankful for every single person who has helped or hosted me along the way.

I look forward to sharing stories, food, laughter, and purpose with more of you soon ❤️

I love to meet amazing people irrespective of their gender and appearance. I am not interested to date or being romantic with people over this platform as it’s more of cultural exchange for me than a tinder or bumble.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing to connect with a global community that unites the world by welcoming strangers into their homes, creating wonderful experiences and lasting memories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experiences:

• Extreme Travels: I’ve ventured into the most remote parts of India where I didn’t see another human for 10 days.
• Unexpected Encounters: I once met a dacoit who initially wanted to rob and possibly harm me. However, after understanding my journey, he gave me money, food, and even dropped me off at a safe place. Humanity exists in the most unexpected places!
• Meeting Leaders: I have had the opportunity to meet various Chief Ministers and governors across India to discuss environmental issues and advocate for change.
• Heroic Acts: I once helped a girl escape from a group of creeps, standing up against injustice when it mattered most.

There’s a lot more to share, and I can’t recall everything right now, but I look forward to sharing my stories and experiences with you. Let’s create new memories together!

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m open to sharing almost everything—just not my underwear!
