About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"You just go on your nerve. If someone's chasing you down the street with a knife you just run, you don't turn around and shout, "Give it up! I was a track star for Mineola Prep." Frank O'Hara

ABOUT ME

Sometimes I talk enough for three women and sometimes I like a comfortable silence. I can be sarcastic but I try never to be truly mean. I love cities- their culture, their history, their built form, their strangeness, their shortcomings. I love the ocean. If I'm drinking, it is most likely whiskey. I play flute in a little Irish duo with my mother, who plays the harp and sings. I love to dance. I read more poetry than is probably healthy. Family is really important to me, and I consider friends family. I practice vipassana meditation.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and meet them where they are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am going to be in Ireland June 8-July 14th, 2013. I am hoping to wwoof for some of it, but since a lot of places are full up during June and July I am thinking I might also do some couchsurfing. I am also up to hang out with travellers when I am home in Boston.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was abroad in Milan my junior year in college, my parents came to visit and we went to an AC Milan game at San Siro. It wasn't a particularly important game, but I grew up watching European (and MLS!) soccer with my father and going to games as a family has always been something I've treasured. Being in one of the truly great soccer stadiums of the world with my family was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can do all the fancy coffee drinks baristas are supposed to know, read music, do basic sewing (mending etc.) I'm pretty good with computers. My mom's brownie recipe is ridiculous.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
