About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cycling towards Asia

ABOUT ME

We're two New Zealanders with bicycles and a tent heading East from Santander in Spain towards New Zealand. Along the way we have passed through France, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, Mongolia, China, Vietnam and Laos.

After six years working in London, we were keen to travel for longer than a few weeks at a time and wanted to immerse ourselves in places that we visit.

We've achieved this by spending six months travelling by bicycle through Europe, spending nine months in Turkey including six in Istanbul. From March 2011 we have been back on bicycles through Russia, Mongolia, China and South East Asia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We share what we can with everyone we meet enroute, whether that is information, a meal or a bed if we have one. We're interested to learn more about people and places we go through.

We hope to offer a couch when we get back to New Zealand!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted a number of couch surfers through another hospitality community specifically for cyclists called Warm Showers and from hearing their experiences we're interested to meet people in a similar way.

Our experiences on other peoples couches have created some of our best memories of the trip!

Camped on top of mountains, swum in icy rivers, cycled across Mongolia. Camped out above 4000m, cycled to 4700m. Ate donkey.
