Hi, my name is Roman, I used to live in Saint Peterburg, Russia and now moved in Alkmaar. I studied robotics and mechatronics, but found myself as a software developer. Me with my wife Alice, cat and four fancy rats decided to try something new and to move to the Netherlands.

I like to meet new people and I hope that couch surfing would help me to find new friend here in the Netherlands. I am not a big story teller, I prefer to listen to people, their stories and adventures. I like to discuss things like traveling, adventures, science, politics, human rights. Couple of years ago I got interested in neurobiology and psychology. I prefer skeptical approach and I don't believe in mystical things.

I am a bit geeky person, I like playing boardgames and I have a lot of them. My favorites are Small world, The Settlers of Catan, Ticket to ride. I like puzzles and I can solve Rubik's cube in a couple of minutes.

I like snowboarding but I have never had a chance to go to real mountains. Text me if you had such experience and maybe we will go together some day. I used to play Ultimate Frisbee in a team but now I become lazier and I play frisbee with my friends from time to time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel, discover things about different countries and couch surfing helps me and my friends to enjoy it. I found that people are very open here, so I can easily find friends when I come to a new place.
