About Me

I’m Romina, 31 years old, living in Buenos Aires, not too far from the city center. I work in the textile industry and also do some freelance editing. I studied Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires, and I finally graduated recently after many years of studying.

I live on my own with my dog, Chiqui —he’s 7 years old and the best companion. I’m into artsy things, sensitivity, and collective projects. I consider myself a feminist and try to stay true to that in my daily life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After finishing my degree, I decided to take a trip to visit my best friend and my cousin, and also travel around Europe a bit —Italy, France, and Spain.

I’ve already traveled quite a bit around Latin America: Bolivia, Peru, Mexico, Cuba, Uruguay, Brazil, and Colombia—always staying in hostels or with friends. What really stays with me from each trip is the people I meet along the way. That’s why I’m interested in Couchsurfing—not just to save some money, but mostly to live the experience from the inside, sharing with locals and learning what everyday life looks like in each place.

Music, Movies, and Books

An Argentine artist I admire a lot is Rosario Bléfari—actress, writer, musician—who had a very unique way of showing the beauty of everyday life.

The last movie I watched was Hot Milk and I loved it. I also really enjoyed La Virgen de la Toscana, an Argentine movie based on a short story by Mariana Enriquez.

My music taste is all over the place: pop, folklore, electronic, cumbia. As a teenager I was into Miranda!, and lately I can’t stop listening to Pink Elephant by Arcade Fire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think talking with strangers is one of the most amazing things in life. Every person is a whole universe waiting to be discovered. I also really value collective experiences: joining assemblies, organizing things with others, building networks of care and support.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I studied Image and Sound Design, I often see things through a visual lens. Sometimes I connect with someone just because I like the t-shirt they’re wearing—I think aesthetic choices say a lot about each person.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking and sharing recipes. I also enjoy singing and playing the guitar (though since I’m left-handed, I need a special one). I get a lot of joy from giving opinions on visual things—decorating, outfits, makeup, styling. I love sharing dance, long walks, and of course a good mate.
