关于我
Hello! I'm Rona. Born in Jerusalem, raised in Tel Aviv, and am alternating between the two. I'm interested in miscellaneous topics, from philosophy and literature to biology and neuroscience, and have studied philosophy and mathematics in university.
I registered to CS a while ago but only now (August 2019) am beginning to use it. During the last years I've worked and studied a lot and haven't had much time to travel, so I usually trailed around my country (can offer recommendations). Recently I finally decided to take a pause, go out through the door and explore the less familiar grounds (less familiar - to me, at the moment) of this beautiful and complicated planet. As I hate touristic trips, which are usually very shallow and do not allow to get to the 'heart' of a place, I am out and about to discover and rediscover places using CS.
I am a very friendly person, and am always thrilled to meet new people. I get along with different personalities (being myself both an extrovert and an introvert, depending on the situation) and quite easily adjust myself to any life situation encountered. I'm also quite open, would love to exchange opinions and conversations (just please, if you would like to speak politics - let's do it pleasantly) and always appreciate sincerity.
....and I usually don't use so many I's in sentences!
Somewhat of a philosophy - I don't believe we're meant to do good necessarily - but if we're already here, let's do the best we can :)
"We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us"
-Jo Cox (1974-2016)
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and share conversations, hangouts and experiences - strolling through the city, sharing a cup of tea, coffee or a glass of wine, hiking, going to concerts, talking until small hours, cooking, singing badly (a favorite) - whatever. I also love travelling and getting to know different places and cultures deeply. CS combines these things perfectly, and further allows me to see the world from different perspectives than mine - a thing which I deeply appreciate and yearn for. Besides, I'm interested in getting to know the people of a country I'm visiting, learn from them about their culture, and teach them about mine.
Furthermore, through CS I can meet people through their take of their home-base, and transform foreign places into living organisms, through the locals within them. It takes time to really get to know places, and as a tourist it's hard to know where to start. Locals can make this process much nicer and easier. (Not) lastly, couchsurfs I got to know were usually very nice and interesting people, which makes this platform a great place to get to know people around the globe :)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
Let's see.. I haven't done a truly amazing thing yet, but am working on it.
Unusual things I've done:
I organized a camping inside my university (I have also camped outside the university, but those experiences were not very special, at least in the common sense..)
I flew a buckeye (so much fun and not too dangerous, I totally recommend)
and I would always appreciate ideas/suggestions.
教,学,和分享
I believe that during a good conversation one teaches, learns and of course shares quite naturally and thoughtlessly.
Therefore, let's talk about it :)
我可以与沙发主分享些什么
Would love to share conversations, experiences, hikes, meals, recipes, stories, book/music recommendations, etc.
Can make you a great Shakshouka, have a Socratic dialogue, exchange languages or just talk about the peculiarities of life.
