About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life and try out something new every week

ABOUT ME

Cheerful, outgoing personality with always something to say (if not always anything useful...). I enjoy discovering new food, destinations for travel or things to do and see - everything new is exciting and an opportunity!

PHILOSOPHY

Each to his own: let other people live their life as they wish and you'll both be happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am keen to host couchsurfers, which strikes me as a great way to meet new people and hopefully make some friends. As Cambridge is a beautiful town with lots of lovely places (read: pubs), I look forward to showing it off to my guests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have only hosted people and it's been very enjoyable. It's like having friends over for a day or two and seeing the town through a visitors' eye again. Having surfers over is a great way to make the weekday evenings a little more interesting!

Interests

I enjoy playing sports: mainly hockey (which I've played since I was a kid), but also badminton, some rugby and sometimes football. After sport, I will happily undo all the health-benefits by lounging in the pub (or the sun, when available) with a beer and company.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will read everything, if possible in the original language. If pressed, my favourite genres are historical fiction and the more satirical science fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekking into Nepal from Darjeeling to see the sunrise over Mount Everest at 6am. That would be amazing enough in its own right, but it was made so much more special to do this with friends I had met only two days before. The experience has forged a friendship for life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will gladly share my recipes (though I can't profess to be more than a simple amateur cook) and my travel experiences. If anyone's interested, I can show you how to play hockey; but I expect it'll take more than one visit to get the hang of it...

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, India, Israel

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States
