About Me

I work in the fitness industry and run my own business Real Results Fitness in my hometown where I work between my own private studio and a local ladies only gym. I love to run, lift weights and practise and teach yoga and Pilates. I teach various fitness classes including Zumba and am passionate about health, well being and nutrition. Every year I run several races to raise money for charity, either one close to my heart or one that one of my clients has asked me to support.
I enjoy cooking and growing vegetables and fruit in my tiny garden. I do have a crazy dream of one day living off the grid and being self sufficient.
I love all types of music and have a passion for reading and enjoy movies of all types.
I have 3 children, all grown now of whom I am exceptionally proud.
I'm easy going, cheerful and optimistic and am definitely a 'people' person but I dislike rudeness and bad manners.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am looking to broaden my horizons and reach out to others with similar interests, especially running, Yoga and nutrition.
My work hours are variable and flexible so I feel this would make me a good host.
I'm hoping to take some time off to travel in 2017 so looking for ideas to add to the many I already have of where to go and what to do.

Interests

Running - I'm a member of a running club, I'm not that fast and it isn't always pretty but now I'm in the V45 category I don't do too badly. I'm planning on attempting my first ultra this year.
Yoga - I teach a basic fitness based form but would love to explore many more aspects of Yoga for my own pleasure.
Cooking - I have conditions that are intolerant to certain foods and have become quite adept and altering recipes to make them dairy free. I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen :-)
Music - I enjoy many music genres and love concerts and watching local bands.
History - I am a National Trust and English Heritage member and love visiting these places - I love the architecture, the gardens, woodlands and the grounds.
Travel - I love to travel abroad but closer to home I enjoy days and weekends at the coast and try to head for the Scottish Highlands to enjoy the lochs and mountains for a few days each year.
