About Me

Hi, I am Rosalie. I am from the north of Germany, but I live in Aarhus in Denmark where I study Musicology. My family has been a part of Servas (another travelling organization) for a long time, and thus I have grown up with hosting people from all over the world. In my teenage years, I began to travel myself and signed up for Couchsurfing - and I am very happy that I did it because I have met so many amazing people since!

In my spare time, I like to write stories, poetry and songs, and I love playing music. During the last years, I have developed a particular interest in Brazilian music - especially the classics of Samba and Bossa Nova. I have published some of the music that I make on my YouTube channel:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Often, I hear that people travel to another country without really getting it to know since they stay in the hotel area all day long. The best memories of my trips are not the tourist attractions that I have seen, but the experiences with the people that I have met. I enjoy having good conversations, learning new languages and thus expand my personal horizon.

Music, Movies, and Books

In my leisure time, I perform classical music and South American guitar music. I also listen to folk sometimes.
Some of my favourite films are "Chocolat", "West Side Story", "Desert Dancer" and "Orfeu Negro". Oh, and I love "Downton Abbey"!
When it comes to books I like writers like e.g. Isabel Allende. Her books "Memories of the Eagle and the Jaguar" are amazing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 16, I was on exchange with a French girl. It did not only improve my French very much but I had a lovely time in which I also learnt a lot about French culture and I have still contact with my exchange partner and her family.
I also travelled through England and Ireland with a backpack and stayed with different hosts. I had some very unusual and funny experiences there that I always will remember.

Teach, Learn, Share

Besides my passion for all different genres of music, I am also quite interested in philosophy and I always like having deep, philosophical conversations.

Also, I learn Brazilian Portuguese and I am always happy when I can practice my language - so if you are Brazilian and want to have a chat, feel free to contact me :)
