About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Bring the Funk

ABOUT ME

I am a double-major in English and Anthropology at Luther College. More over, I am an avid pianist and percussionist. I write music under the moniker 'He Who Never' - http://www.hewhonever.com

I have never been a frequent traveler, which is my primary reason for studying abroad this year at the University of Nottingham in England. I want to use the opportunity to see as much of Europe as possible.

I love wearing blacks and greys, eating good Thai food, drinking coffee with strangers, taking a good sauna, driving with all the windows down, going to mind-blowing concerts, and the divine combination of chocolate and peanut butter.

PHILOSOPHY

My eyes already touch the sunny hill,
going far ahead of the road I have begun.
So we are grasped by what we cannot grasp;
it has inner light, even from a distance-

and charges us, even if we do not reach it,
into something else, which, hardly sensing it,
we already are; a gesture waves us on,
answering our own wave...
but what we feel is the wind in our faces.

"A Walk" by Rainer Maria Rilke

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking along Hadrian's Wall (Northern England) in September 2010 took me through the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen. It was absolutely gorgeous, and I hope to return in the spring. I highly recommend it, even to those who don't hike much.

I've been documenting this year's travels with a photo blog over at http://aarongoestoengland.wordpress.com
