To have an interesting story to tell the grandkids
I do biology, climb mountains and fly planes and write about it all.
The Scandinavians have a great word called "Hygge" which has no direct English translation but is a word for cosiness, comfort and a general inner warmth andhas an adjective form of "hyggelig." One Dane decribed it as "the feeling when you rent a cottage and pack it with your closest friends."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I travel, I like to have time alone but also time with friends and I think couchsurfing will offer this.
My first couchsurfing experience was in Ottawa in May 2013 and it was the best introduction to the community I could have asked for! Canada was a great place to surf the seven sofas!
I am a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. I currently study biology which will make you think I am a science nut but you are totally wrong. I was brought up to do soemthing in the arts be it painitng, photography or writing! I do them all. I have always wanted to be a pilot but that it a rich kids game these days!
Music, Movies, and Books
I am a bit rubbish at watching films, you will be surprised at how many I haven't seen. Of what I have seen I like Into the Wild, Short Circuit (haah), Up! and the Star Wars series.
Books: I am catching up on fiction. I didn't read much as a kid so I am currently ticking Harry Potter of the list. I liked factbooks and encylopedias as a child and now I read guidebooks a lot and I am known to be a bit of a walking atlas.
I like all music and try to search out new exciting stuff before the radio ruins them all.
Srubs, Modern Family, New Girl and Battlestar Galactica have been my main tv obsessions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed Kilimanjaro last year, I can fly planes, I write for British Newspapers(in a good way!), Spent 4 weeks on expedition in the Arctic at 16 and spent the last 6 months in Canada. I'm only 21, but still counting!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you that not all students are drunkards, even Scottish ones!
