I arrived in Bogota on 18th March 2023 as part of my plan to travel very slowly around the whole world for the rest of my life. I like to think of this as embarking on a new adventure; in other words, I am off to see all the places I have never been to, meet lovely new friends and make some wonderful memories.
In early 2022, I sold my house and gave away everything I had except for 2 suitcases and a small rucksack; I no longer have a home anywhere! I have been a member of TrustedHouseSitters (THS) since 2018 and have been fortunate to stay in a number of homes in exchange for looking after pets. So, having sold my home, my next move was to spend two months housesitting in the UK and then 3 months in the USA. I then moved to Panama for 6 months and now am in Colombia.
I have lived and worked in many different places both in the UK and abroad.
I retired a few years ago having been a TEFL teacher since 1988 though I spent the last 15 years teaching in a British university. I have owned homes and gardened in Surrey, in Orkney and in Sussex by the sea; I have done all my own decorating and even did a garden design course so I could redesign the small garden in my most recent home where I lived for over 20 years.
I am trustworthy, easy going, responsible and caring and I love walking, reading, visiting art galleries and museums, eating new food and generally getting to know new places in addition to watching live opera in HD whenever I can find it showing in a cinema. I really enjoy making new friends and learning about their lives.

I love classical music and especially opera. Most of all I love the "live in HD" operas shown in local cinemas from opera houses around the world. I am a great Lee Child fan. I left home with 2 cases and a small backpack with my laptop and am ready to cut back to just one but not quite going to the extreme of Jack Reacher!
