About Me

I am an open mind and an open heart.
I strive to be kind, giving and free.
Positivity breeds positivity, surround yourself with what you want to be is my motto.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am embarking on a year of travel, I really want to meet new people and make unforgettable memories and I think knowing locals who can advise you on where to go and what to see is going to be an amazing way to do that. I am also an English teacher and passionate about helping people communicate and connect with each other so that's another reason I'm here :)

Interests

I love poetry in all forms, especially performance poetry, I also love theatre, and cinema all of which I have studied at university. I love art and history and travel, and I feel the three go hand in hand. The first thing I love to explore in a new place are the galleries and museums. I adore reading a good book. I love good wine, and good conversation. I'm vegan and I'm a great cook, I will always try to go to local vegetarian restaurants or health food shops. You can take a look at some of my culinary creations on @plantpoweredprincess on instagram. I care about animal welfare, I care about equality for everyone on the planet regardless of race, gender, wealth, or religious views, I care about the environment and feel we all need to do our best to conserve and protect it. I love yoga and practise most mornings, I also enjoy pilates, running, swimming, walking and hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes are so broad, I love dub, reggae, hip hop, ska, drum and bass, speed garage, electroswing, jungle, classical, electronic, baseline, indie, latin, spoken word, and I'm always happy to explore new music.

With film I love Tarantino as a director, again my love of films spans quite a vast and diverse variety as with music and with books! Favourite film I saw in the last year was Gone Girl (loved the book too!)

Books are too many to list, I don't even know where to start, but it would be a great conversation to have when we meet :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Tenerife for the last year, in a convent school with nuns (I'm not Christian), teaching English at a primary and secondary school in a town called Guimar on the east coast.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a PGCE in Teaching and Learning a Foreign Language, a First Class English Degree and a TEFL certificate, so I am the ideal person to host if you are looking to improve your English either casually through conversation or we can arrange more formal classes if you desire.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you about vegan cooking and make you incredibly tasty and healthy food, I am good at baking sweet things and making full meals, and I love to cook and share food and drinks.
I can go running or walking with you or do yoga or pilates with you if you are an active person.
I can share good conversation and if we become friends an open invitation to travel on with me to wherever I go next, or to meet up with me in the future!
