About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I currently live in Gijón and am working part-time in the rural schools of Asturias whilst I study and develop a project related to an investigation I did whilst in México last year. I am interested in working to protect peoples under threat and I also really love teaching! My plan is to be a Peace Brigades volunteer in central America and accompany human rights defenders. For the moment I would like to meet new people in Gijón to hang out with and especially to go dancing on the weekends!

ABOUT ME

friendly, pensive, adventurous... a giggler!

PHILOSOPHY

Everything has a beginning and an end so make the most of your time in between.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a geography geek who enjoys living abroad and taking in what I can of our stunning planet. I think couchsurfing is a brilliant idea and the perfect way to meet like-minded people and learn how they navigate life in this crazy world.

Interests

Travelling, meeting new people and learning through integrating with others. I like to go on walks; I enjoy a grueling hike with a good view.
My hobbies include writing, reading, photography, painting, drawing, anything artsy, playing board games, dancing (salsa, cumbia, rockabilly!), walking through parks, lying in the grass, having picnics, visiting art galleries.
I love animals.
I studied human geography so pretty much interested in everything that makes the planet tick!

Music, Movies, and Books

Old school stuff from my Dad's era. 80s/90s cheese! Pop faves, Jazz, classic literature and movies about realistic people and situations. I love a film based on a true story. The Journey is the Destination.
Also a big nature documentary nerd!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Couchsurfed every night on my Indonesian adventure and met the most wonderful people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have many contacts in charities and NGOs so can point you in the right direction for volunteering and work in social development/teaching.

I am good with pets and children!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook up a yummy mediterranean-inspired dish! I love art and photography so could offer to paint/draw you (if I am brave enough haha). We can paint together. I can also be your hiking buddy :) I can help with finding volunteer placements and give lots of travel advice!

Sorry I cannot host at the moment as I am moving around so much but promise when I get my own place I will offer up any space to fellow travelers and try and show you some unique places in my hometown (or wherever I settle)!
